Description:

The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is a leading national land conservation organization committed to protecting our most important natural areas and the species they sustain. Since 1962, NCC and its supporters have protected more than 20 million hectares of ecologically significant land across Canada. With a central office in Toronto and regional offices across the country, NCC delivers results you can walk on.
NCC is an international leader in nature-based solutions, leveraging the power of the voluntary carbon market to drive flexible private sector capital to fund stewardship and conservation across Canada. The Darkwoods Forest Carbon Project in interior BC was established in 2008 as Canada’s first voluntary carbon project. In 2022, NCC’s portfolio expanded with the acquisition of the Boreal Wildlands property in northern Ontario, which remains the largest private land conservation area in Canadian history. Together, the Boreal Wildlands and Darkwoods projects span over 200,000 ha of critical habitat permanently protected by NCC and registered under Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard with additional co-benefits certified under the Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standard (CCB) and Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard (SD VISta).
More recently, NCC announced plans to acquire the Taiga Forest Carbon Project, an 82,000 ha property south of Kapuskasing, Ontario that is registered as the first Improved Forest Management (IFM) project under Canada's Greenhouse Gas Offset Credit System.

NCC is now the project proponent of a diverse portfolio of IFM projects, providing critical funding to support the organization’s broader mission. This portfolio, led by NCC’s Nature + Climate Projects Accelerator team, is expected to continue to grow in the coming years as NCC identifies new opportunities for supporting large-scale conservation acquisition through carbon finance. The Nature + Climate Projects Accelerator team (the Accelerator) is seeking an experienced Forest Carbon Analyst to support NCC’s growing portfolio of carbon projects across Canada. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Accelerator on a contractual basis through feasibility analysis, due diligence, forecasting, and QA/QC. The role is 100% remote with working hours in any North American time zone.
